God Still Raises Up Young People

A message of healing, faith, and purpose for Christian teenagers and young people.

A Word from the Author

God still calls this generation

I write these pages with reverence, love, and responsibility.

I do not write as someone distant from the reality of young people. I write as a pastor, a servant of God, an observer of the times, and someone who carries in his heart the desire to see an entire generation returning to the Father’s arms.

There are many young people spread across Brazil and the nations who are divided between two paths: the truth that sets free and the deception of sin.

On one side, God continues calling, healing, restoring, and raising up young people to live identity, purpose, holiness, and mission. On the other side, the enemy continues crafting lies, distractions, momentary pleasures, spiritual confusion, and shiny traps to draw this generation away from the Creator.

Entertainment has grown. Technology has advanced. Knowledge has multiplied. But none of this replaces the presence of God.

The problem is not technology itself. The problem is when technology takes the place of the altar. The problem is not knowledge. The problem is when knowledge without the fear of God produces arrogance. The problem is not communication. The problem is when engagement becomes more valuable than truth.

There was a time when people said, “Anything for money.” Today, many seem willing to do anything for engagement. In this scenario, many young people are being shaped by confused voices, teachers without reverence, influencers without responsibility, and content that feeds the flesh but weakens the spirit.

That is why this book was born. It was born as a call to young people who are tired, wounded, distracted, to those who still have not understood who they are in God, and to those who feel that there is something greater but still do not know how to respond.

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”Matthew 11:28

God still calls and raises up young people, even in difficult times.

Chapter 1

The Vast Earth and a Divided Generation

“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”John 8:32

I want to speak to the young people of this vast earth.

I want to speak to the Brazilian, South American, Latin American, North American, European, African, Asian, and Oceanian young person. No matter the language, the country, the social condition, or the place where one lives, on every continent there is a generation in dispute.

On one side is the truth that sets free. On the other is the deception of sin. The battle is the same: the young person’s identity, faith, future, purity, dreams, and relationship with God.

Many young people are confusing freedom with the absence of limits. But freedom without truth becomes disguised slavery. Many think they are choosing, when in truth they are being led by desires, algorithms, influences, trends, addictions, passions, and voices that do not want to lead them to God.

The enemy does not begin by showing the prison; he shows the shining door of false freedom.

He works with cunning. He does not present himself as destruction; he presents himself as pleasure. That is why Jesus declared that the truth sets free, and that truth has a name: Christ.

The Bible is full of young people raised up by God in difficult times. Daniel decided not to defile himself. Joseph resisted temptation. David faced Goliath. Timothy was called to be an example. This shows that God does not despise youth. God calls young people to live with purpose.

You were not born merely to consume content, follow trends, or try to fit in. You were born to know God, carry purpose, be the light of the world and the salt of the earth. The enemy wants to put out the light of young people because he knows that a generation illuminated by Christ disturbs the darkness.

Perhaps you are tired, confused, divided, or bound by something you cannot tell anyone. Perhaps you are in church but far from God in your heart. Perhaps you are outside the church but hearing a voice inside your soul saying: return.

Young person, God is still calling you.

Life Application

Set aside a moment of sincerity before God. Read this chapter again, identify the point that most spoke to your heart, and turn that truth into a practical decision. Faith matures when the Word stops being only heard and begins to be obeyed.

For Reflection

  1. What is God revealing about my identity in this chapter?
  2. What lie, pressure, or distraction needs to be confronted by the Word?
  3. What practical attitude should I take this week?
  4. How can I help another young person draw closer to God?

Prayer

Lord God, speak to my heart and guide my steps. I receive Your Word with faith and ask that it produce repentance, healing, maturity, and purpose in my life. Deliver me from deception, strengthen my identity in Christ, and raise me up to live Your will in this generation. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

Line to Remember

You were not born to be lost in this generation; you were born to be raised up by God within it.
